A computer is a practical way to test a subscription before putting it on the TV, because the screen, sound and connection are all in front of you. You have two routes: an installed player, or playback in the browser.
The difference between the two
An installed player usually organises channels better and shows a clearer programme guide, but needs installing and setting up once.
The browser is quicker for a trial and installs nothing, but is less comfortable day to day.
Ask support which suits your subscription — it depends on the form the details arrived in.
The steps
Have your details ready exactly as support sent them.
Install the player support confirmed, or open the page they send you if you are watching in the browser.
Enter the details and let the list finish loading before testing.
If the picture looks soft, check the playback resolution and that the machine is not busy with heavy software.
Use the computer to diagnose any problem
If playback is fine on the computer but stutters on the TV, the problem is usually the TV or the Wi-Fi reaching it, not the subscription.
If both stutter at the same moment, the connection or the content is the likelier cause. Send support the channel name and the time it happened.
Frequently asked questions
Do I need particular software?
It depends on the form your details arrived in. Support will name the right player or send you the browser method.
Does it work on Mac as on Windows?
Usually yes, with a different player name. Send support your device type.
